Tinginys is a coming of age adventure film, directed by Italian director Maximilien Dejoie and co-written by Dejoie and Lithuanian screenwriter Virginija Vareikytė, a co-production between Albolina Film (Italy), Just a moment (Lithuania) and MTP (Scotland, UK). Escaping the Spanish flu pandemic, Marilee and her brother James are forced to fend for themselves away in a log cabin deep in the forest. To prevent her brother from going back home, Marilee tells him the tale of Tinginys, a fantastic creature who is said to wreak havoc in the woods. Will the two children manage to survive on their own? Emotional, cinematic and rooted in character, Tinginys is conceived for an audience of 8-12 years old kids: an adventure-driven experience of friendship and collective solidarity, shot in English and Lithuanian language, aimed at theatrical and digital cinematic release. The development of this feature film will take place during a period of 18 months and consists on the writing of the final draft of the script (6th version), the historical research consultancy and the work with a dramaturg, the location scouting and the casting process, the delineation of budget, financing strategy and plan of production, the work and consultancy with an Art director and creature designer, as well as the preparation with different head of departments such as Director of Photography, Post-production supervisor. We will also interact with marketing experts focused on releasing global content aimed at 8-12 young adults, international sales agents and distributors, as well as platforms and broadcasters. We expect to interact with circa 25 film professionals in this development phase. The results consists on the final draft of the script, the production of a teaser, the marketing and promotion package and the pre-production of the project completed before entering Principal Photography.
