Description | The project entails the the construction of the new Tiwi Binary Geothermal Power Plant in Tiwi, Albay, the Philippines, with a total installed capacity of 17MW. The plant is located on a 1.5-hectare of land where the old Tiwi Geothermal Power Plant is located. The project will be built from the ground up with an entirely new binary plant system, pipes, and transmission line. The plant will be connected to the Luzon Grid via the 69-kilovolt Tiwi-C substation of the National Grid Corp. of the Philippines (NGCP). Sponsor is Aboitiz Power Corporation (AboitizPower), through its subsidiary AP Renewables Inc. In December 2022, AboitizPower signed an EPC contract with Ormat Technologies, Inc. and Desco Inc..
