TMais SA is a utility created to provide local and long-distance telephone services in certain cities in the States of Sao Paulo, Parana and Santa Catarina. TMais received licenses to operate in the regions where one of the mirror companies are not delivering services. TMais is one of the so-called "espelhinhos" (small-mirrors), and initially it was serving cities with less than 200,000 habitants. TMais was authorized to deliver services in 55 cities of Region II (the mirror company of Brasil Telecom is Global Village Telecom) and 14 cities in Region III (where the mirror company of Telefonica is Vesper). These authorizations were originally granted by ANATEL, the regulatory agency, to Espelho Sul Holding SA, in 2000. In 2003, Espelho Sul Holding had its name changed to TMais SA. In November 2003, TMais was authorized to deliver local and long-distance services in the main capitals of the countries, including Sao Paulo, Rio de Janeiro, Belo Horizonte, Curitiba, Porto Alegre, Salvador, Recife, Belem and other cities in the states of Parana and Rio Grande do Sul. This expands the services provided by the company to cities that have more than 200,000 habitants. TMais started operations in March 2003 in one city of the State of Rio Grande do Sul (Lajeado).
