The project is built on a partnership of three institutions working in education. The purpose of the project is to address common needs detected in the field of primary and secondary school education in Arad and Hódmezővásárhely, by implementing a working platform on teacher training, extra school activities for students and by organizing an intercultural festival. The core problem concerning both the training and the extra school activities is the competence-based teaching and learning, which means the achievement of new contexts, new methodologies and a real-world orientation of the curriculum. The project is linked to achievements previously funded by EU projects, using as location for a part of our activities two natural parks, near the Tisza and the Mures rivers, where we have good opportunities for working with the students. The project will focus on several values and attitudes, first of all on intercultural and civic responsibility. All the activities are planned to be done together, in a real partnership between two important schools. The project results and outputs can be replicated in other circumstances and settings. The general objective of the project is contribution to the enrichment of the connections between people exploring cultural identity and educational values of the partners. The project addresses the needs of two target groups: the first is that of the students from the two partner schools and the second is the group of the teachers from the two schools. The first group consists of 120 primary and secondary school students; the second group consists of 40 teachers from the same schools. The students and the teachers who are selected as members of the target groups contribute effectively to the elaboration of the training and of the camp activities. Among project results: 4 professional events for training teachers using new training design and joint delivery; joint camps for 40 students, to develop personal and social competencies and knowledge about environment protection in natural, a first intercultural festival with participation of students, educators and parents from Arad and Hódmezővásárhely.
