Description
Description | The care and welfare sector in Flanders and the Netherlands is facing bottleneck occupations due to the increasing need for care. Vacancies are not filled due to a shortage of care and other profiles on the labour market. In addition, there is a need for a lot of replacements for current healthcare professionals in the short term: for example, one in three in Flanders is over 50 years, in western North Brabant is 36 % over the age of 55 and in Zeeland that is even 43 %. The outflow from care and long-term drop-out due to illness (burn-out) increases the imbalance between supply and demand in the healthcare sector. The sector therefore has every interest in not only attracting healthcare professionals, but above all keeping them at work for as long as possible. Together at Z wants to increase the retention of caregivers by improving the agility and innovative capacity of both healthcare providers and organisations. In the coming years, the project will focus on further development and bringing together products, trainings and collaboration models that emerged from previous projects ZORO, Stay at Z and Care2Adapt. For example, we will continue to work on Team Champions (team members who implement change from below in a team) for care teams, leadership trajectories, peer groups and support in the implementation of labour support innovations. In this way, the project wants to focus on workable work (work of which you do not get sick or overloaded, is motivating and fascinating and offers opportunities for learning and development) and/or within the working environment are labour support or labour saving. Furthermore, Samen aan Z also wants to create collaboration and therefore connection between organisations to increase the impact and bearing capacity. Cooperation increases the well-being of caregivers and consequently the quality of care, as demonstrated by the practice during the pandemic. |
