Togo - CIZO Pilot Project for off-grid rural electrification using solar kits

The pilot phase is part of CIZO I and has atotal budget estimated at US $2.4 million, the total project costs are estimated to $32.3 million. A SEFA grant of $975,000is requested to fund two activities related to capacity building of the service infrastructure within CIZOI starting in the pilot phase,namely1) establishment of solar academy –$535,000 to train technicians for CIZO and for the rural electrification agency and 2) training of distribution agents, –$440,000.GoT will fund the other activities ofthe pilot phase with; (i) pilot consumers financing package to facilitate adoption (US $0.3 million) (iii); a pilot incentive package for first DESCOs with a partial financing of 20.000 solar kits (US $1 million), and (iv) various project costs including communication (US $0.1 million).
