Tonkin Highway Upgrade between Roe Highway and Welshpool Road

NRW has won a contract to undertake major upgrades on Tonkin Highway, including widening the highway to six lanes, building new grade-separated interchanges at Welshpool Road East and Hale Road, and adding a shared path for cyclists and pedestrians. The works will be carried out in several stages, starting with the construction of the Welshpool Road East interchange. Preparatory works are already in progress, with major construction expected to start later in the year. The project is part of the Tonkin Highway Corridor project, jointly funded by the Australian and Western Australian governments.
