Topkapi is a mature yet innovative company, where carefully developed storytelling is at the heart, with strong focus on talent and quality, and a sharp eye for its audience. Following the evolution of Topkapi, the slate we present is eclectic and diverse in terms of genre, category and target audience. Our slate’s projects embrace emerging formats & talent, aiming to address relevant and topical themes: A BRUTAL LOSS is a poetic drama about two families who fled from Bosnia to the Netherlands and whose shared present and past have fatal consequences for the lives and futures of their children. An inverted Romeo and Juliet. Directed by Hetty de Kruijf and written by Manon Uphoff. COLOSSEUM is a high-end series set in the dynamic Amsterdam Bijlmer area. The series focuses on a father-son relationship in the aftermath of grief. The story will address themes of masculinity and what it means to be a father as an immigrant. Currently leading the creative direction are writers Ashar Medina and Werner Kolf. A DARK RIDE is a genre-heavy youth series based on the notorious Dutch children's book series 'De Griezelbus'. When the demonic Bus of Fear returns from the dead after thirty years, two generations must confront their fears to defeat evil. An introduction to horror for a young audience. HOLY SAINT ANTHONY will be Paloma Aguilera Valdebenito’s second feature film; a wide-appealing festival film about motherhood, poverty and government system failures. TATA - a story about the women pushing for environmental accountability from Tata Steel - is our international, high profile drama series based on current affairs. A series set in a Dutch seaside village where the worst problems of our time are most visible. The series will be developed by award-winning playwrights Anoek Nuyens and Rebekka de Wit.
