Tornasol is one of the most established independent production companies in the Spanish market with almost 200 films produced. While continuing to produce fiction films and documentaries, nine years ago we expanded our production scope to include series. Since 2019, we've increased our series production output to keep up with market demand. The slate project that we are presenting to this call is very diverse. It consists of 3 films and 2 series of different genres and formats. “Modernas”: a historical series based on real events with characters that marked the cultural and feminist history of Spain and Europe at the beginning of the 20th century. “The Unforgotten”, a historical espionage thriller, inspired by the story of Hebert Cukurs, a Nazi criminal, which confronts us with the horrors of the past that still cast shadows over Europe today, and makes us reflect on memory, justice and human dignity in the face of the extremisms that are resurfacing nowadays. “Cucaracha”, a film written in modern verse, which borrows from poetry and the comedy of the absurd, a take on a hot topic as motherhood. “Las lágrimas de Claire Jones”, a social thriller that highlights the blight of abuse, rape and the fragility of the justice system, based on an original novel. “The Interregnum”, a political thriller series with a dystopian touch, takes us to a near future where the potential for manipulation through the use of Artificial Intelligence in the justice system is debated. The thematic and format diversity of this slate is its greatest strength and will allow us to give continuity to our line of production, without having some projects compete with others when looking for financing, thus allowing us to maintain the level of quality to which our projects aspire
