Description
Description | The condominium construction industry in Toronto is facing an unprecedented slowdown due to pricing pressures, financing difficulties, and regulatory costs. New residential construction has nearly halted, with many projects failing to meet pre-sale thresholds, leading to cancellations and deposit returns. This has resulted in an empty development pipeline and a significant price gap between new construction and resale units, discouraging buyers from committing to pre-construction purchases. The construction sector is preparing for a contraction, with only institutional projects and purpose-built rental housing continuing under different economic models and government support. |
