Description

Description

The Toronto Transit Commission (TTC) is currently undertaking a strategic fleet modernization initiative to improve the reliability and availability of their bus fleet through the purchase of new buses and the rehabilitation of the existing fleet through the establishment of a preventative maintenance program. Under this project, the TTC will purchase a total of 1,043 buses across three technologies: clean-diesel, hybrid and battery-electric. The purchase of 983 new clean diesel and hybrid buses will ensure that assets in the TTC’s bus fleet remain in a state of good repair and are systematically replenished in order to meet changes in ridership demands while ensuring that technological advancements are adopted within the fleet in order to increase operational efficiency, accessibility and lower greenhouse gas emissions.
