Toronto Waterfront Erosion Hazard Mitigation Project

This project will rehabilitate 26 structural assets along the north shore of Lake Ontario, from Etobicoke to Ajax. This project includes the new construction of 10 assets which provide stormwater, wastewater, water and safety essential services. This investment will improve the community shoreline fortification capacity to mitigate impacts caused by waterfront erosion, heavy rain and other consequences of flooding events. Major rehabilitation will enhance the resiliency of the Lake Ontario shoreline to endure ongoing erosion risks and the increased impact of flooding events. Once complete, this project will ensure that parks, trails, beaches, navigation channels and essential municipal infrastructure are protected from current and predicted erosion threats. The project will increase the resilience of more than 27,000 people.
