Deafness is a very specific disability. Often overlooked because of its discretion, it nevertheless often leads to situations of exclusion in our audio-centric world. Reflecting on solutions for social inclusion based on the experience of accessibility to live music makes for a comprehensive and ambitious project. We aim to set up a cross-border innovation laboratory to improve the accessibility of deaf people to opportunities to listen to and play live music. The aim is to create a hardware and software device that translates music (sense of hearing) into vibrations (sense of touch) produced by and for deaf and hearing protagonists. In addition to the work on social inclusion, the conversion of hearing to touch will help improve accessibility in general: for the deaf (vibratory translation of sound alert signals in urban environments, hospitals, etc.) and for hearing people (noisy environments where oral communication is difficult, etc.).
