The aim of the project is to produce a leaflet listing the 15 "charming" sites, which will be available both in paper and digital form and can be downloaded. The historical sites of Barly, Couin, Grand Rullecourt, Villers Chatel, Vaucelles, Lessines (Notre-Dame à la Rose), Attre, Beloeil, Enghien, Thoricourt, Lozer, Ooidonk, Maison Beaucarne, Oudenaarde (market) and Ghent (Graslei) are all high-quality sites that are part of a circuit through the Scheldt basin and its tributaries. Madeleine Buysse, a member of the Beaucarne family who lived at the beginning of the 20th century, fictitiously accompanies the visitor on their journey along these sites. Her diary, written in the style of the Belle Epoque, serves as a common thread for the brochure. She gives a female perspective to this string of sites dotting the borders. As far as local travel is concerned, the route chosen will be suitable for bicycles. This project is the result of a down-up organisation.
