Description
Description | The tourism police project in Amritsar was launched multiple times over two decades to assist tourists in the city, including establishing police booths at key locations like the Golden Temple and Dr Kitchlew Chowk. The project involved training police officers in soft skills and communication in English and Hindi to better serve tourists. Despite these efforts, the project has repeatedly failed due to lack of government funding and neglect, with the latest launch in 2019 ending after a few months. The project cost was around Rs 8-10 crore. |
