The added value of the project is achieved by the cross-border cooperation, enriching tourism offers by joining the strengths, getting to know the other side of the border during the planned tourism related activities and thus increasing the exchange and mutual visits. This, in turn, results in sustainable development of both regions. The project facilitates balanced development of the Aluksne?Võru border region by enhancing the cooperation in the area of tourism and creating added-value tourism products on both sides of the border. The main results of the project are promotion of Aluksne (LV) and Tamula (EE) lakes as tourism attractions by improving hiking trails around them. Attractiveness of various tourism objects is created by researching legends and stories about them; inflow of tourists is facilitated by organising joint trips for tourism entrepreneurs and creating common tourism packages; attracting of tourists is also promoted by implementation of an innovative audio guide; ensuring the tourism information exchange by publishing informative material about tourism objects in Aluksne and Võru regions.
