Town of Battleford Lagoon Upgrades and Expansion

The Project proposes to expand an existing wastewater collection system. The scope of work includes the construction of a new Submerged Attached Growth Reactor (SAGR) system, the rehabilitation of a lagoon cell and liner, UV disinfection, and associated works to meet provincial regulations under the Wastewater Systems Effluent Regulations. The Town’s existing wastewater treatment system is near maximum capacity and the ageing infrastructure is no longer performing at its original design capacity. The facility currently has four lagoons, but as they have reached capacity, they will not able to meet the growth demands for the Town of Battleford and the surrounding area. The Thunderchild First Nation is currently developing commercial property in the surrounding area that will be serviced by the lagoon. The upgraded lagoon is required to meet the demands brought on by development, as well as ongoing residential developments in the area.
