Description

The Town of Drayton Valley - Net Zero Aquatic Facility Project (the Project) consists of the design and construction of a new 27,000 square feet aquatic facility to replace the existing pool. The project scope includes a eight-lane pool, a 25 metre lap pool, a leisure pool, a lazy river, a steam room, a hot tub, appropriate change rooms, a multi-purpose room, and support spaces. The facility will also optimize green technology to reach a net zero energy balance. The aquatic facility will utilise two energy sources in place of waste heat recovery to realise energy efficiencies. Onsite Solar PV generation and the Combined Heat and Power (Cogen technology)—through natural gas to heat the pool and provide electricity for pool pumping.
