Description
Description | The project is an upgrade/extension to the current aged small park area that will assist to improve the mental and physical health of residents and others in the region who may be affected by the Covid-19 pandemic by providing a safe place to enjoy the outdoors while engaging in beneficial physical and mental activities. The project consists of interactive play structures for children of all ages, a selection of accessible interactive play equipment for those individuals who would otherwise not be able to participate in recreational activities, outdoor fitness equipment for children and adults alike, who may not be able to access this type of equipment due to financial or other constraints, a gazebo and picnic area, a perimeter walking/jogging path and plenty of green space to de-stress. The picnic furniture and fitness equipment will be fixed to the location. The project has plenty of regional support (letters of support attached) as the RM of Duck Lake and Beardy’s and Okemasis’ Cree Nation residents will also benefit from the project. The project will expand the existing park infrastructure to allow for appropriate and safe social distancing while enabling people to participate in activities to improve their mental and physical health. The project will be a huge benefit to Town residents and will make a marked difference to those suffering from depression and other effects due to the Covid-19 pandemic. |
