Description
Description | The Fort Qu’Appelle Rexentre is in need of upgrades to sustain its current and future functions amid the growing demands for COVID-safe recreational opportunities and emergency gathering points. This important regional asset serves as the emergency muster point for two near-by schools (600 students/staff), is an emergency evacuation point for the greater area in the event of natural or other disaster, and with some much needed improvements could enhance our community’s and region’s COVID-19 response beyond that of providing safer recreational distancing and amenities. The Fort Qu’Appelle Rexentre Infrastructure Improvements project will rehabilitate portions of the facility to meet the needs of the public and surrounding communities by increasing the functionality of the asset, improving safety and public health, decreasing operating costs and water consumption, and reducing community COVID-19 transmission. This will be achieved by updating the aged assets, reducing touch points for surfaces, improving indoor air quality, and removing safety hazards. Following items are being addressed with this submission: - Change room drainage - Water fountains - Change room heating systems - Floor and wall repairs - Electrical systems - specific to the generator installation - Safety improvements |
