Description
Description | The Hepburn Parks and Pathways Project will create safe outdoor gathering spaces through a new park construction, an existing park renovation, and an accessible pathways addition. The project will provide outdoor places for people of all ages to safely gather and build community in a time of stress and limitations due to the pandemic. The project will enhance community connection with two outdoor gathering spaces. People will benefit from room for physical activity, creative play, nature experiences, social interaction, and small gatherings. The project components will be installed at the following sites: South Hill, 114 South Hill Road; and Little Park, 404-2nd Street East. The components are designed to attract residents to gather at the parks and all park furniture will be fixed to the site. South Hill Site: The new site will be located in a 30-lot neighbourhood on municipal reserve land. It will include a sidewalk and pathway, play structure, engineered wood fiber surfacing, benches, picnic tables, shade areas, waste and recycling receptacles, lighting, pet waste containers, fencing, sport surface, and landscaping. Little Park Site: The existing site, located in a central neighbourhood, will be renovated to include an upgraded play structure, engineered wood fiber surfacing, picnic tables, benches, shade area, entryway, lighting, and landscaping. |
