Description

Description

The main objective of the project is to provide the Town of Leader with a reliable potable water storage system to store the Town’s potable water prior to it being sent to the distribution system. The town’s existing above ground steel storage tank is heavily rusted and at the end of service life. The project scope includes the construction of a new aboveground glass-fused-to-steel potable water storage tank, piping to connect the existing water treatment plant to the new tank, and the associated electrical and controls works. The project also includes upgrading the aging control system at the water treatment plant for remote monitoring as well as having the provision of adding a new solar system to provide a green source of power to the water treatment plant. The result of this project will provide a reliable potable water storage and a more reliable control system to the water treatment plant as well as reducing the carbon footprint with the addition of a solar panel power system.
