Description

This project includes the replacement and upgrade of water, wastewater and storm water lines on Main Street in the Town of Mahone Bay. Project includes replacement of the water transmission main connecting the utility’s water source to the Town reservoir, as well as upgrading the primary distribution infrastructure serving the community from the Water Treatment Plant. Upgrades to distribution lines will increase fire flows and support new development. Storm water line replacement will address reported storm water management issues in project area. 1250 m of sanitary sewer line will be replaced. The project will increase the capacity to treat and manage wastewater and storm water which is integral to the more than 70 commercial, residential and institutional properties (including a 96 bed nursing home facility currently under construction) in the area and has been informed by Infrastructure Review Studies and Asset Management Planning.
