Town of Milestone Water Treatment Plant Upgrades

Main objectives of project are to increase treated water storage to meet current regulations and alter existing system to become more financially and environmentally sustainable. Scope will include a new 250,000 L concrete treated water storage reservoir, new 200mm raw water production well including new pitiless adapter, 7.5 hp pump and conversion of existing greensand filters to biological filtration to eliminate chemical requirements and excessive backwashing. Outcomes will be increased potable water supply and storage for consumption/fire protection, better quality water, reduced raw water consumption, reduced waste streams to the environment, reduced chemical consumption and a net lower operational cost.
