Description

Description

Submission for upgrades to the existing Jubilee Arena, including a permanent dressing room addition. Currently, the Arena shares eight dressing room spaces with the Centennial Arena. All of the dressing rooms share a washroom and shower with another dressing room. There are eight dressing rooms in total with three bathroom/shower areas in total. The dressing rooms range from 170 square feet to 360 square feet. The size of the dressing rooms is not adequate to accommodate a full hockey team, and multiple rooms are required for each team. The size and layout of our current dressing rooms does not allow to operate effectively or efficiently while navigating through a pandemic. COVID-19 has put an insurmountable strain on the operations of the arena, and most specifically the dressing room situation. A dressing room addition will help ensure the Town is able to continue to operate both arenas in a safe and effective manner. The Jubilee Arena dressing room addition will add four dressing rooms that will be able to accommodate all players from one team, who will then be able to maintain physical distance from one another. There will also be a washroom and shower in each of the dressing rooms to ensure that patrons from one dressing room are not mingling with patrons from another dressing room. Once the dressing room addition is complete, the Town will be able allow one team on the Jubilee ice surface to utilize the Jubilee Arena dressing rooms and one team on the Centennial Arena ice surface to utilize the Centennial Arena dressing rooms at the same time. Currently, with our dressing room situation, this is unattainable.
