Town of Shaunavon - 2023 UltraViolet Disinfection Upgrades Project

Drinking Water Project: The main objective of the project is to upgrade two existing drinking water wells to incorporate the use of Ultraviolet (UV) Light as the source of primary disinfection for the Town of Shaunavon, in order to ensure complete system compliance with provincial drinking water regulations. The upgrade will include installing new Ultraviolet Light vessels with an operation control panel, and also the replacement of two existing well buildings including the foundation, floor, new electrical, and heating. Additionally, new well pumps, Variable Frequency Drives and Program Logic Controller (PLC) for system control will be installed and SCADA and alarm system maintained to provide streamlined and simplified system troubleshooting. Inclusive, rehabilitation of current influent and effluent piping will be executed to extend service life. This project is the second phase of UV disinfection upgrade that will ensure all of the Town’s wells are fitted with a UV disinfection system.
