Description | The Townsite Solar 2 project is a proposed 170-megawatt artificial intelligence data center planned for 88.5 acres of city-owned land in Boulder City. The project would consume large amounts of water and electricity, including daily use of more than 600,000 gallons of effluent from the city's wastewater treatment facility, and could add stress to the power grid. The project is under evaluation and at a very preliminary stage, with a ballot question placed on the November ballot to gauge voter sentiment. It is scheduled to break ground later in 2026 and could be operational by 2027. |
