Tracadie - Principale St. Infrastructures - Phase 2B

This project consists of renewing ageing sanitary sewer, water and storm sewer mains on Principale Street in the regional municipality of Tracadie, New Brunswick. This project will focus on a section in the busiest zone of the downtown, between the civic address 3484 Principale St and intersection of Albert St. The ageing pipes are in very poor condition and are in need of repair to address infiltration problem and to avoid annual water main breaks. The scope of work will include: - Replacing 105 metres of existing concrete-asbestos sanitary sewer mains with PVC lines - Replacing 105 metres of existing iron pipe water mains with PVC lines - Replacing 105 metres of existing concrete storm sewers with high-density polyethylene pipe and concrete pipe - Reinstating the road along the 0.11km area of work, with the addition of active transportation concepts such as a bike path. This project is Phase 2B of a four phase project to replace the critical infrastructure on Principale Street. The project aims to help ensure the community has access to reliable potable water, and can better manage wastewater and storm water in an environmentally sustainable manner. As well as being able to use active transportation to safely commute through the downtown area.
