Description
Description | Traditional Architecture from a New Perspective is a project developed by the two partner institutions – Institute for Hungarian Culture from Senta and the Móra Ferenc Museum from Szeged. Both partners deal with culture and tradition preservation, and it is only natural that they found a common interest- documentation of rural traditional architecture in the cross-border region. An expert team of 6 researchers (including a professional photographer) from both countries will conduct a year long s tudy in the 127 selected multi-ethnic settlements on both sides of the border in order to document the characteristics of traditional rural architecture. Due to procured equipment, they will be able to make virtual tours in and around characteristic houses which will be available on the project website. The crown of their work will be a publication- Architectural Guide of the Great Szeged Region in Serbian and Hungarian. The book will be presented in 9 settlements in both countries to interested parties. Also, it will be distributed to all relevant institutions (universities, schools, museums, architect chambers, etc.) and civil organizations which operate in related fields. An Art and Monument Protection Art Colony will be organized in Senta for students where they will explore local rural architecture, and an Ethno camp in Domaszék for 10-12 year old children who will learn about traditional lifestyle in the past with practical activities. Project opening and closing conferences will be organized to acquaint the public with the goals and the results of the activities, and ensure project visibility. The media will also be present at the Colony, Camp and book presentations. The project will also have Facebook and Instagram profiles. |
