Trail - Memorial Centre Energy Recovery and Retrofits

The proposed project at the existing Trail Memorial Centre recreation centre will recover heat from arena refrigeration and other sources and will upgrade and integrate HVAC equipment to use the recovered heat for domestic water heating, space heating, and air handling. The project will reduce up to 73% of the building’s greenhouse gas emissions by improving energy efficiency and displacing natural gas use, and will improve building cooling and indoor air quality. The project works will include: - heat recovery systems, including desuperheater, energy recovery condenser, heat pumps, heating loop piping and fixtures, and heat exchanger(s); - domestic water pre-heating system and perimeter radiant space heating integrated with heating loop(s); - replacement desiccant dehumidifier with heating coil and approximately 11 replacement gas-fired rooftop air-handling units (AHUs) with hydronic coils, all integrated with heating loop(s); - energy analysis dashboard; and - site work, mechanical, electrical, control/monitoring, signage, and other related works and appurtenances.
