Description | The program's general objective is to enhance forest-sub-sector productivity under a national regulatory framework that supports both the industry and environmental preservation, by upgrading worker skills. The program comprises two projects: (i) UCUDAL Project: Specialized Technical Training and and (ii) OISCA-Uruguay Project: Youth and Sustainable Development. UCUDAL Project will provide training for workers and middle-level technical staff through courses aimed at skills development and upgrading, to apprise them of modern forestry and wood-industry techniques. OISCA-Uruguay Project will be carried out by OISCA-Uruguay and will provide international training for trainers, with an eye to supporting the private sector's role in development of this sub-sector, in addition to an educational campaign that will include planting threes at schools in 18 of Uruguay's departments. |
