Description
Description | All Member States are investing in using ICT tools in their judiciaries, but the level of digitalisation still varies. The future of cross-border judicial cooperation is digital and upskilling the digital capacity of justice professionals elemental. Raising awareness in the EU judiciary to this new reality is imperative. Assembling 25 organisations, this transnational project aims to support EU judiciaries in cross-border judicial cooperation in civil and criminal matters by improving the legal and digital skills of court staff and bailiffs/judicial officers. 472 court staff and bailiffs/judicial officers can participate in 14 interactive, cross-border and cross-professional legal and language training events. The events will take place in 8 different countries in face-to-face, hybrid and online formats, making them accessible to all. The activities will cover various topics in the fields of EU civil and criminal law with the aim of building the digital capacity of justice professionals on the application of the relevant substantive and procedural law. Some activities will offer legal English language training parallel to legal training thus enhancing the target groups’ linguistic skills in areas of practical value. A mix of training methods will be offered, from lectures to practical case work and live demonstrations. The events bringing together countries with various levels of digitalisation of their judicial systems will create an ideal platform for mutual learning and exchange of experiences in the use of ICT tools. The events held in Trier will include a half-day visit to the CJEU. A series of 8 video podcasts identifying best practices in the cross-border use of ICT tools will be produced. The consortium will implement a large-scale dissemination and awareness-raising campaign to increase the project’s impact and contribute to the efforts made to advance the digital transformation of justice and thus improve the efficiency of the judicial systems in the EU. |
