The project involves the extension and operation of the tram network in Nottingham, located in central England. The concessionaire has taken over operations of the existing line, which opened in 2004, from Nottingham railway station to Hucknall and Phoenix Park, to the north of the city centre; and constructed two extensions to the south (Clifton) and west (Chilwell) of the city. The completed network under operation spans 32 km. It consists of two lines that cross the city, running together on a common section for the middle part of their journey, including the city centre section. Line 1 runs between Chilwell and Hucknall, features a total of 33 or 34 tram stops, depending on direction, and has a journey time throughout of 62 minutes. Line 2 runs between Clifton and Phoenix Park, features 27 or 28 tram stops, depending on direction, and has a journey time throughout of 47 minutes.
