The project is being advanced by Glenfarne, which owns 75% of the project, with the remaining 25% held by the state-owned Alaska Gasline Development Corp. The pipeline is planned to be 807 miles long and 42 inches in diameter. The project is being pursued via a co-owned subsidiary, 8 Star Alaska. The first phase includes a pipeline for in-state gas customers, with a final investment decision expected by the end of 2025. The second phase includes a gas treatment facility and an export terminal, with a final investment decision expected in 2026. The pipeline is expected to have a final capacity of 20 million tons of natural gas per year. |
