Trans-Alaska Pipeline System Citizen Oversight Council
Sector: Oil and Gas • Location: Cordova, Alaska, United States
Source: Petroleum News
A nonprofit organization is advocating for the creation of a citizens' council to oversee the trans-Alaska pipeline system, similar to the existing council for terminal and tanker operations in Valdez. This is in response to concerns about oil spills and the aging pipeline crossing tributaries of the Copper River, which could threaten the watershed and wild salmon.
