Description | The project implements innovative solutions for the production of biomass from industrial-scale waste streams using micro- and macro-algae. As the algae absorb carbon dioxide and nutrients, there is a large positive environmental and climate impact. The project aims to implement innovative solutions for the production of biomass from waste streams on an industrial scale using micro- and macro algae. The project aims to create a network of stakeholders in the algae industry in the Botnia-Atlantica region. The target group is medium-sized and small companies such as wastewater treatment plants, biogas producers, dairies, power plants and pulp and paper industry. To achieve this goal, the project will also develop a cost- and energy-efficient scalable cultivation system and methods for the conversion of algae biomass for energy production and high-quality products. |
