The project Transeuropean Journeys (TJ) is a large scale project, spanning a variety of organizations, authors and books, including consortium partners from six countries and 25 works of fiction to be professionally translated, published, distributed and promoted across Europe and beyond. TJ is led by Region Jonkopings lan (RJL), a Swedish public body, working to enhance the literary and cultural ecosystem for several years by publishing books ann, networks and projects. TJ is dedicated to highlighting the vast diversity and pluralism that characterize European literature. Through Transeuropean journeys, it aspires to introduce mainly less well-known European literary works, originating from smaller linguistic communities, to a wider European audience. This initiative spans across various fiction genres including novels, poetry, theater plays and children's books, covering an array of themes and cultures reflective of the continent's rich literary heritage. The works to be translated also span across emerging authors, deceased authors and Nobel Prize-winners. The consortium brings together organizations from a diverse range of countries including Sweden, the Czech Republic, Greece, and Armenia. The books, teeming with cultural narratives and insights, will be translated by professional translators into an extensive array of languages. Specifically, translations will be made into Swedish, Portugal, Greek, Armenian, and Czech, while also reaching beyond the European Union to include languages such as Chinese, Vietnamese, and Korean. This approach not only bridges European literature with its native readers but also extends its reach to Armenia and various Asian markets. By translating some works into multiple languages, the project empowers authors and translators to connect with audiences in several regions simultaneously.
