Description

Description

The 2021 Annual Sustainable Growth Strategy and the Guidance on Resilience and Recovery Plans identified building renovation as a priority for national recovery plans.Recovery funds will be useful for those public authorities able to put in practice a clear and holistic strategy, which includes the management of the activities in public buildings that have environmental impacts on energy consumption. The Renovation Wave seeks to improve the quality of life for people living in and using the buildings, starting by schools, hospitals, and administrative buildings.BUILDING FOOTPRINT contributes to this pathway supporting public authorities to raise capacities and planning tools for renovating strategies integrating a simplified Life Cycle Approach (LCA) including buildings’ users behaviors.Givers will train and coach receivers to put in operation the Edufootprint products (Calculator and APP) by the e-support system, leading receivers to identify significant impact areas of public buildings and plan effective allocation of resources and time toward strategies to generate a positive impact (general awareness and behavioral change, public procurement management, optimization of transportation related services etc.).Furthermore partners will cooperate with the “Efficient Buildings” thematic community for stimulating the transnational debate and fostering the integration of the LCA into the energy efficiency strategy according with the recent European Guidances.
