FEDEC – European Federation of Professional Circus Schools - is a network of 80 members based in 31 countries in Europe and beyond. Founded in 1998 at the instigation of the 1st vocational circus arts schools, FEDEC is committed to supporting the development and evolution of training, teaching & creation in the field of circus arts. In 2024, with this network mission as a backdrop, TRANCE - TRANSForm Circus Education will concentrate on supporting the sector in becoming safer and increasingly sustainable, focusing on physical and emotional safety practices in learning environments, to increase well-being in arts education. More specifically, enhancing the quality of Circus Education in evolving societies, will be carried out through 4 pillars: - Transforming the network – Inclusive governance for a stronger, caring and safer organisation - Transforming E&T recognition: Advocacy and support to the sector, raising awareness on EU policies - Transforming circus education: Innovative and inclusive learning opportunities for professional development - Transforming the voice - Dissemination and communication strategies FEDEC's ambition is to contribute to the development of the arts education sector at European and international level, to enable it to develop in a caring, supportive, sustainable and inclusive way, with the medium-term aim of better equipping citizens to meet today's challenges.
