• The project consists of a capital review that will provide new route development and schedules to meet community transit needs as well as capital work to implement the capital review plan. The project is intended to be both planning (design) and capital work, including construction and asset purchases, which will be implemented over the course of the project. The capital work will include bus purchases, the purchase and installation of new bus shelters and bus stops and the rehabilitation of existing bus stops and bus shelters for improved accessibility. • The scope of capital works includes: o the purchase of up to four (4) new conventional diesel buses; o the installation of up to 50 new bus shelters o the installation of up to 50 new bus stops; o the rehabilitation of up to 25 existing bus shelters; and o the rehabilitation of up to 75 existing bus stops that are in poor condition and below minimum accessibility standards. • The project will improve the capacity, quality and safety of, and, access to the public transit system in Elliot Lake, Ontario.
