Transit Hub Improvements

This project involves upgrades to three (3) existing transit hubs (major bus transfer points), as well as the construction of one (1) new transit hub. Upgrades to the three (3) existing hubs include better accessibility, mobility access and safety features, including pedestrian connectivity, accessible powered doors for waiting areas, and tactile surfaces on loading platforms, as well as passenger amenities including larger, heated shelters/waiting areas and real-time electronic passenger information screens. The one (1) new hub (with a platform containing up to 3 bays and a 160 square foot enclosed canopied waiting area) will also include similar features, and will improve service in the busy Westfort Village area of Thunder Bay.
