Description

This project consists of upgrading the public transit system in Chatham-Kent with new real-time vehicle location technology, fare-systems technology and customer communication platforms to provide public-facing communication to transit users. This project includes the procurement and installation of: - new fare systems software (1); - new smart-card machines (5); - transit vehicle-location software (1); - communications screens to inform users of upcoming bus arrivals (4); - passenger-counting sensors (14); and - security cameras for the public transit fleet (25). These assets will improve the capacity, quality, safety and accessibility of existing or future transit systems in Chatham-Kent, Ontario.
