The project involves improving accessibility at subway stations through Design, Build, Finance and Maintain (DBFM) method and installing 20 new elevators at 8 stations in New York, USA.The 8 stations which require accessibility upgrades including new elevators are Church Av, Sheepshead Bay, Rockaway Blvd, Kings Highway, Woodhaven Blvd, Steinway St, Junius St and Mosholu Pkwy. The 5 stations where elevators need rehabilitation are 125 St, 34 St-Penn Station, Euclid Av, 161 St St-Yankee Stadium and 3 Av-149 St.The aim of this project is to make 13 stations accessible by executing accessibility projects. The private partner will have to DBFM 20 new elevators at 8 stations to make them fully compliant with the Americans With Disabilities Act (ADA). The private partner will also upgrade 14 existing elevators at 5 other stations.
