Description
Description | This project consists of the installation of devices on traffic signals and conventional buses to prioritize bus traffic on city streets. The project involves the acquisition and installation of 10 sets of on-board equipment, 11 sets of intersection equipment, and 1 central monitoring software package. The installation of this equipment will lead to increased efficiency and on-time performance, and is expected to result in increased ridership of 2% per year, and an increase in transit modal split of 10% over five years. As this is a pilot project, it will also be evaluated (at the Ultimate Recipient’s sole expense) to guide decisions on future installations. The project will result in improved quality of the transit system in Burlington, Ontario. |
