Description

Description

GreenBeat Nexus is a flagship initiative designed to advance the green transition and environmental sustainability within the European music sector. The project addresses the sector's environmental footprint while leveraging music's cultural influence to drive positive, systemic change. It pursues three core objectives: 1. Map sustainability challenges and identify best practices across the music ecosystem. 2. Build capacity and facilitate knowledge transfer to strengthen environmental awareness and skills. 3. Provide financial support for green innovation within the sector. To achieve these goals, GreenBeat Nexus will conduct extensive research, implement a structured training framework, and redistribute €3.6 million to support at least 60 third-party projects. These actions will ensure an inclusive and scalable transition toward environmentally responsible practices across the music sector. Fully aligned with the priorities of the Creative Europe Programme and Music Moves Europe, the project integrates sustainability principles within the cultural and creative sectors. It will foster cross-sectoral collaboration through a Network of Green Specialists, offering expert guidance and mentorship to ensure that diverse stakeholders—regardless of size or geographical location—can access and adopt tailored sustainability strategies. Strategic partnerships with sustainability organisations, policymakers, and cultural institutions will further maximise impact by facilitating policy uptake and cross-industry learning, fostering long-term sectoral change within the European music ecosystem. GreenBeat Nexus is led by a consortium of experienced organisations: INOVA+, European Music Council, The Green Room, On the Move, and KEA. Together, they bring combined expertise in research, cultural policy, sustainability, and financial support mechanisms to deliver a coordinated, high-impact approach. Ultimately, GreenBeat Nexus aims to inspire a systemic shift in the European music sector, embedding sustainability as a core principle at all levels of the industry—from grassroots initiatives to large-scale cultural institutions.
