In the context of the recent unbundling of the gas transmission system operator (GTSO), the Project will support the modernizationof the natural gas transmission sector through the following activities and investments: • Support to adoption of modernInformation technology and automation systems to meet the demand of a competitive gas market environment (real timeinformation/metering/balancing for reliable functioning of competitive and transparent natural gas market, transparency andinformation sharing requirements...). Typical activities could include support to digitization and SCADA. • Efficiencyinvestments: this would consist in investments which would increase the technical efficiency of transmission operations, inparticular the reduction of energy consumption (replacement of compressors). • Capacity-building/institutional strengthening ofthe TSO.
