Description

The project aims to help the Limpopo National Park (LNP), together with the Kruger National Park (KNP) in South Africa and the Gonarezhou National Park in Zimbabwe, form a transnational protected area as the Great Limpopo Transfrontier Park (GLTP) in which ecologically valuable resources are protected and used sustainably and the standard of living of the local population is improved (overall objective). In addition, a stable environment is to be created to enable private investment in tourism (project objective). The target groups of the project are the rural population living within the park and its host zone and the private sector that makes a living from natural resources and tourism. The project essentially involves financial support for the voluntary relocation of villages located in the core zone of the LNP.
