Transport by light utility vehicles

Transport by light utility vehicles is the missing part in obtaining the overall picture of road freight transport in Croatia and impact on the environment. CBS believes that useful information will be collected through pilot survey necessary for determining and evaluating GHG emission policies as well as for transport and environmental modelling. This project relates to light utility vehicles statistics and is based on data requirements and proposed questionnaires developed by Eurostat in cooperation with the Task Force on Light Utility Vehicles. This action will contribute to the development of a harmonized methodology for monitoring of LUV activity. The goal of this action is the implementation, evaluation of the methodology for collecting harmonized data on LUV and the conducting of a pilot survey to collect data on LUV activity and production of data on vehicle stocks, vehicle-kilometres, tonne-kilometres, fuel consumption, number of stops, data on transport of goods by kind of goods and type of transport (national/international). The entire category of vehicles N1 will be included in the survey with the coverage of the institutional sectors of users/owners of the vehicles, which include companies and households. CBS will prepare an evaluation of the methodology as well as an assessment of sustainability, costs, burden and statistical quality of collected data as well as proposals for improving the methodology. Based on all collected information, CBS will decide on the introduction of this survey into regular production, which would ensure the sustainability of the results.
