The $5.3 billion, 42-inch pipeline will serve Arizona's largest utilities including Arizona Public Service Co., Salt River Project, Tucson Electric Power Co., UniSource Electric Services, and the municipal utility in Mesa. The pipeline aims to provide priority delivery of low-cost natural gas to support regional energy reliability and meet surging power demand driven by population growth, hotter summers, data centers, and manufacturing growth. Construction is expected to begin in mid-2028 and complete by late 2029, with the route to be finalized after regulatory reviews. |
