Description

Description

Treatment of COVID-19 late followers works to better understand the late effects of the corona and find better ways to mitigate them. The Corona pandemic has made clear signs on our societies from the economic, social and health point of view. The pandemic seems to be following us for many years yet, with severe late consequences not previously experienced from influenza and other viral epidemics. COVID-19 is a new disease. We know very little about late sequences, who is affected and for how long. In the aftermath of the widespread infection, a large dark number is assumed, some of which live with severe late effects of COVID-19. The project partners want to understand the emergence of late consequences and to be able to mitigate them. The project will create an overview of late sequences and improve treatment with a Danish-Swedish biobank to identify biomarkers for late sequences, late sequence clinics for the treatment of clear late sequences and mapping non-specific late sequences. It creates knowledge of how the rehabilitation of late sequences is most optimally arranged. The collaboration will lead to joint solutions by combining expertise from both Denmark and Sweden with competencies within a number of specialties supported by publications on the scientific cooperation.
